However, at beginner level it is desirable to cover all the main bases and so it is recommended that the new pianist starts with An Accelerated Piano Course for Beginners. This course gives you everything you need in terms of both skills and knowledge in order to build a firm basis for further development.

You can optionally take the side course Music Theory Basics to enhance your understanding and, when you get to page 37 of the included primer book, you can choose to do some technical work through the course, Scales - Oh Mum, Do I Have To?

After you have completed the main beginners course, you can then go on to develop your skills with some simple pieces from Daniel Gottlob Turk's Kleine Handstucken, a seminal beginners' collection.
